Dennis McCalmont: new album out now.

McCalmont releases ‘soul-soothing’ album

THE newly released album Forevermore sees Dennis McCalmont return to his singer/songwriter roots.

An album of 12 original tracks, the new record hears McCalmont at times backed by a full band, with musical inputs throughout the album by Craig Donaldson on bass, Donal Hoban on drums, John Flatley on piano and Tony Bambrick on tremelo guitars. Other songs featured are pared right back to just vocals and guitar.

Forevermore expresses hope amid themes of love, life and loss. The album covers many musical genres, including folk, ballad and blues, and is much more introspective in its approach. On listening, it’s clear that McCalmont’s intention here is ‘soul-soothing’.

An impressive follow up to last year’s successful album #SoulRecall, which had ‘Loverboy Blues’ play-listed on The Dave Fanning Show, Forevermore is certain to see McCalmont’s star continue to shine.

You can catch The Dennis McCalmont Band play the Ballina Salmon Festival Heritage Day main stage tomorrow (Wednesday) from 12 to 2 p.m. He’s also live and acoustic on Friday nights in The Towers, Westport, and on Saturday nights in The West Bar, Westport.

Forevermore and #SoulRecall are available to download from iTunes. For more details, log on to www.reverbnation.com/dennismccalmont.
