Paul Kelly: making a name for himself in country music circles.

Lean on kelly for some great country

FROM Pettigo in County Donegal, Paul Kelly is an artist currently making great strides in the Irish country music scene following the launch of his six-piece band a few months ago – for which almost 1,000 people flocked to the Allingham Arms Hotel, Bundoran, for his début dance.

Paul is no stranger to the music scene having played in many successful bands around the northwest of Ireland over the past 10 years before stepping out on to the hugely popular country music scene, which is witnessing a huge revival all across Ireland with thousands of people now attending dances on a weekly basis.

To date Paul has had several successful single releases and popular songs like 'So In Love', 'The Hooley' and 'The Hangover', which all have had extensive airplay across local and national radio stations. The music videos are regularly featured on various television shows such as Hot Country, Phil Mac and Ireland West TV.

Paul's latest single is a country cover of the classic song 'Lean On Me', on which he has put his own stamp. 'Lean On Me' was number one in several countries around the world and Paul explained his decision behind recording it: “This is a slightly different recording to my previous songs but it's a song that I have always been fond off and one that I hope will be popular on the dance floors and airwaves. I’ve been lucky to work on it with some great people like Jonathan Owens, who produced the song, and Mick Bracken, who recorded the video.”

Over the coming months Paul And his six-piece band, which comprises some of Ireland's top musicians, will extensively tour the various dance venues up and down the country and already Paul's show is receiving great reviews from the dancers and promoters, which resulted in a busy summer schedule ahead.

Meanwhile, 'Lean On Me' is now available upon request on all radio stations across the country and you can also see the video on Sky Channel 201, Facebook and YouTube – and remember, #wantcountrycallkelly!
