Mayo band to play dublins vicar street

MAYO band EDS (Everyday Solution) are set to become one of the county's first acts to play the prestigious Dublin venue Vicar Street.

EDS will play Vicar Street on August 21 as support to HomeTown.

Vicar Street holds 1,500 and the big break for EDS comes as the modern five-piece band quickly builds its following, with more than 7,000 followers this year on social media.

They will also play at the Castlebar Food and Music Festival on August 23.

EDS are five Mayo boys, one of whom has just finished his Leaving Cert. They have been together 2010 after forming a band while at secondary school in Swinford.

The band have gigged across the west of Ireland, headlining Enniscrone Festival this year, as well as playing support to The Academic, a currently very popular Irish band. They also played to more than 2,000 in Castlebar.

They have played support before for HomeTown, earning acclaim at their gig in the Royal Theatre, Castlebar, earlier this year.

The lads are currently in studio recording songs for an EP and will release their first single in the coming weeks. Booked out throughout the summer, they play upcoming festivals and events in Tubbercurry and Swinford and will play their own first headline gig in Dublin in October.
