Tall Trees (formerly EDS - Everyday Solution) have launched their debut single.

EDS become Tall Trees ahead of first single release

MAYO band EDS (Everyday Solution) are rebranding as Tall Trees to mark the release of their first single, 'Back Again'.

To coincide with the release of the single, which takes place today (Friday, August 19), Tall Trees will be playing Croke Park on Sunday (August 21) during the All-Ireland senior football championship semi-final between Mayo and Tipperary, opening the band to a potential audience of more than 50,000.

'Back Again' is an upbeat rock number written and performed by Tall Trees. The single is available on iTunes and Spotify, and through record stores. The band will commence their first national tour next month, playing venues in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick and Mayo.

They selected the new name Tall Trees to mark the next phase of their development. Having been Everyday Solution (EDS) since 2010 as a school band, the new name is to avoid confusion with others using EDS.

Tall Trees have enjoyed great success in recent months. The band sold out two headline shows in Dublin and another in Mayo, and have continued to gig across the country since. Selling out the Grand Social in Dublin twice surprised them as the venue is normally the home of established acts.

The band have been reviving the Saturday afternoon gigs phenomenon that were once a feature of venues like McGonagles, the Underground and Rock Garden, introducing young people to the excitement of live rock music again.

Tall Trees are five Mayo lads who formed a band while at secondary school in Swinford. Spanning traditional music, pop and rock, the five are accomplished musicians and singers. Find out more about the band on Facebook and Twitter.
