The Dutch are a practical people and Holland is a miracle. It has been rescued from the sea.  When one thing fails the Dutch turn to something else.  It was once said that if the Irish were living in Holland they would be living many metres beneath the sea.
They have been very inventive in Holland and are wonderful engineers. They have a profound understanding of the sea.

Once upon a time there was a man who lived at the far end of this town. His world was limited as you will see.
Like us all, he had his ritual. He walked along New Antrim Street, ventured up Linenhall Street, stopped at the corner and looked up the main street.

I always knew the island of Capri existed and before I ever visited it, it had become part of my imagination.
When I was young there was a popular song entitled 'On the Isle of Capri' broadcast on the radio.
It was sung by Gracie Fields and later it was recorded by Frank Sinatra and these singers have invested romance on this island.
