windmillThe Dutch are a practical people and Holland is a miracle. It has been rescued from the sea.  When one thing fails the Dutch turn to something else.  It was once said that if the Irish were living in Holland they would be living many metres beneath the sea.

bodhran playerNílim ach díreach tar éis filleadh ó Fhleadh Cheoil na hÉireann sa Chabhán agus níl amhras ar bith ann ach gur Fleadh den chéad scoth a bhí ann. B'é seo an chéad uair ó 1954 a bhí an Fhleadh sa áit agus tá an saol athraithe go mór ó shin. Is cosúil go raibh an domhan is a máthar ann agus bhí na sráideanna dubh le daoine ag an deireadh seachtaine, go háirithe.
Ar an gcéad dul síos is mian liom comhghairdeas a dhéanamh leis na h-iomaitheoirí go léir ón gcondae seo ar éirigh leo duaiseanna a bhaint

wealth moneyOur status in life is often determined by the material things one has accumulated. It may be money, land, property, boats, racehorses, helicopters or planes. These luxuries may have little bearing on the type of person one is. If one is lucky or unlucky enough they may have been left it by a rich relative who accumulated it over 60 or 70 years of hard graft.
