Mayo indie rock band New Sunset Hotel's debut single 'The Bitter End' entered the Irish charts at number 10 at the weekend.
The four members of the band – John Murray (vocals/piano), Mark Calvey (guitar), Tommy O'Hora (bass) and Ian McDonnell (drums) – are from the Castlebar/Balla area of the county.
New Sunset Hotel are fresh onto the scene, forming only last August and recording their debut E.P. at Grouse Lodge Studios last November.
In the short time they have been together they have supported Bell X1 and Pete Doherty in concert.
Band member John Murray told The Connaught Telegraph the success of 'The Bitter End' has raised their profile nationally and locally.
