A prison sentence imposed on a Castlebar man for public order offences has been suspended for 12 months. At the local court, Judge Mary Devins imposed the three-month sentence on Slawomir Andrzojczak, 5 Burleigh Court, Castlebar, for engaging in threatening, insulting and abusive behaviour at Rush Street, Castlebar, on March 17 last. Evidence in the case against the defendant was heard at a sitting of Castlebar District Court in May.
Inspector Martin Byrne confirmed to the court that Andrzojczak had not come to garda attention since his last appearance in court. Judge Devins took into consideration a charge of public intoxication relating to the same day and a charge of failing to appear in court relating to April 7 last.
