What better time to explore your creative side than springtime? To help you with this, Galway Film Centre are running a range of evening and weekend courses. Visual artist Aideen Barry will be tutoring a six-evening animation course commencing on March 29.
The course, aimed at beginners, will show participants how to make their own short animation films with i-stop motion, an easy to use editing package to put their short films together.
The films can be shot on pocket digital cameras, mobile phones or camcorders. All materials are provided.
If you are interested in creating special effects for film, Dennis d'Silva will be running an eight-evening after-effects course, commencing on March 23. This course will show you how to animate and alter in 2D and 3D space. There is a discount if you sign up for both of these courses.
A seven-weekend film foundation course will guide you to make a short film whilst also learning the basics of filmmaking, writing, lighting and camera work. There is an early bird discount of €75 if you book a place before mid-March.
As with all the courses, the class size will be small so that everyone gets plenty of attention. Given the limited number of places, telephone (091) 770748 or email
