Sean Kelly at the launch of Mayo Pink Ribbon 2015

Its the final countdown for mayo pink ribbon

D Day is approaching fast.

The Mayo Pink Ribbon cycle, led by cycling legend Seán Kelly and Taoiseach Enda Kenny, takes place tomorrow (Saturday, May 2). Nearly 500 cyclists have signed up from all over the country, Northern Ireland and the UK.

Bucket collections are being organised all around the county during the cycle in aid of breast cancer research, so keep an eye out for them.

Cyclists tell us that the fantastic pink decorations along the route - pink balloons, ribbons, flying bicycles and all manner of pink things - plus the fabulous support from people in communities along the route really helps them keep going and in high spirits, so do your bit and help turn the route pink.

Lots of local communities have been busy working on pinking the route in their area, so cyclists can expect a great welcome the whole way round.
