Organic market in castlebar

THE organic market at the HSE Rural Training Centre, Humbert Way, Castlebar, will be holding its final sale of the season tomorrow (Thursday, August 13).

The market, which began on June 9 last, has enjoyed a very successful run this season and was well supported by a loyal customer base.

Andy Neary, manager of the Rural Training Centre, says: “We would like to thank our entire customer base for their support this season. We were pleased to see that a growing number of new customers chose our centre as a source for buying their weekly veg and baking.

“All are reassured by the fact that the food has been grown naturally and also that the product is certified annually by IOFGA under license number 4693.”

This worthwhile project offers service users from the Rural Training Centre first-hand experience in organic food growth and sales. The service users involved in the venture experience processes from the propagation to point of sale. As a result, they gain enormous satisfaction from seeing that ‘the fruit of their labour’ is in such demand.

To mark the end of the growing season, the organic market at the HSE Rural Training Centre is holding a clearance sale on all shrubs, perennials, grass hedging, etcetera. So come along and support this worthwhile venture - and pick up a bargain in the process.
