Mayo mutts just dyeing to win sam

DOGGED supporters of Mayo GAA are dyeing for this Sunday’s clash against Dublin at Croke Park.

The county’s premier dog-grooming service, The LaundroMutt, Newport Road, Castlebar, is dyeing dogs green and red as Mayo enter the crucial stages of this year’s All-Ireland SFC.

The colourful dye treatments are being offered free with every groom during
Mayo’s participation in the series and there is big interest due to next Sunday's penultimate round clash against Dublin.

All dyes used are entirely pet-safe, non-toxic and patch tested.

“Everybody wants to show support for their county at this stage of the championship, and it’s great to be able to incorporate their dogs in the fun and celebrations,” said Jacqueline Hopkins of The LaundroMutt.

“Our special dyes are totally pet-safe and the colours are imperceptible to dogs, so the only thing they know is that they are getting lots of extra attention!

“Colour styling has been popular in some other countries for a while, but the trend is only starting to emerge in Ireland now. We do a broad range of styles and colours, but none has been as popular as the green and red in recent months,” added Jacqueline.

Mayo mutts can get their ears, tails, paws or whole coats dyed in their county’s colours. Both temporary and semi-permanent treatments are available, which range in longevity from a single wash to around four months.

The complimentary dye treatment is being offered to all customers who get their
dogs groomed while the Mayo footballers continue their march towards the elusive All-Ireland.

“We want to do our bit to paint the town green and red to show our support for the team, and so many people want their best friends to be part of that too.
That’s obvious from the huge number of dogs we groom who are called ‘Sam’!”

All grooms at The LaundroMutt include a dental check, nail clip, gland expression and health screening by a registered veterinary nurse. For more information or to book an appointment for your dog, contact Jacqueline by calling 087 2222067 or by emailing jacqui@mayolaundromutt.com
