Young pup spat in pensioners face

A SICKENING incident was brought to public attention when a reporter with The Connaught Telegraph was approached by an elderly man on Linenhall Street, Castlebar, who informed him about a ghastly experience.

While walking close to the Sacred Heart Hospital, one of three youths passing him by spat directly into his face.

The victim is probably in his late 70s and no spring chicken but he managed what any red-blooded man of lesser vintage would be tempted to do – he smacked the spitter in the face, sending him reeling.

Perhaps luckily for the plucky pensioner, all three youngsters then ran off.

I just couldn’t wait to get home to wash my face,” the victim of the spitting said.

I’ve lived a long time but this has to be one of the most horrible and disgusting things I ever experienced.”

With pups like these roaming around you have to ask: What’s our world coming to?
