Man in court on boy sex assault charge

A MAN is due to appear at Castlebar District Court this morning (Wednesday) charged with a sexual offence against a young boy in an east Mayo town earlier this month.

The accused has been held at Claremorris Garda Station for questioning since yesterday (Tuesday), when he was arrested.

It is understood the alleged victim was attacked in a laneway on Thursday of last week.

The alleged assailant has been charged and will appear before Judge Mary Devins at Castlebar District Court this morning (Wednesday).
