Mayo Colour Run returns

MAYO Colour Run is an amazing crawl, walk, or run family fun event that celebrates healthiness, happiness, individuality, and giving back to the community.

Taking place next Sunday (May 22) at 12 noon in Lough Lannagh, Castlebar, the Mayo Colour Run is entirely focused on fun - there is no competitive atmosphere, no recorded times, and no age restrictions, plus you don’t have to run.

All that matters is that participants enjoy themselves and finish covered in loads of colour. Whether an Olympic athlete or someone entering a run for the first time, the real winners are the people who have the most fun.

And the fun continues at the finish line with a gigantic 'colour celebration' using more coloured powder to create happiness and lasting memories, not to mention millions of vivid colour combinations.

Bring the family along, as there is lots happening on the day for the whole family. You will also be doing good, as the charity partner is Aware, to which Mayo Colour Run will be donating €5 per family ticket and €2 per adult ticket purchase. The donations will be used by Aware to fund their support, education and information services. For more information, visit www.aware.ie.

Last year's event attracted 1,000 participants and the organisers are expecting over 2,000 this year as demand to date has been huge. Prices are from €8 for children and €21 for adults. Family tickets are €49 and children under three can take part for free. Online registration is open at https://www.facebook.com/MayoColourRun.

The advice from the organisers is to start the race dressed in as much white as possible. Just don't expect to be white by the time you finish!
