Mayo will be represented at 10th annual Bloom Festival

THE evolution of plants, the war in Syria and international gardens from Chicago, China and Chile are just some of the themes and inspirations for this year’s Bloom festival.

Bloom 2016 will run for five days over the June bank holiday weekend in the Phoenix Park, Dublin, and Mayo will be represented at the event by MMM Family Bakery, Castlebar, in the Food Village and Cois na Trá Seaside Plants, Ballycroy, Westport, who will exhibit in the Floral & Nursery Pavilion.

Taking place from June 2 to 6, Bloom will have something for all ages and interests, according to the organisers. Now in its 10th year, the festival continues to grow and is widely regarded as Ireland’s largest garden, food and family festival, attracting over 100,000 visitors last year.

Gary Graham, Bord Bia’s Bloom manager, commented: “Bord Bia is delighted to mark Bloom’s 10th anniversary this year and we are proud of how the event has evolved over the years. We are working hard to ensure that visitors are in for a real treat in this our special celebratory year. Once again, the Bloom audience can expect to see breathtaking show gardens, sample some of Ireland’s finest food and enjoy wonderful entertainment, shopping and plenty of lively debate.”
