Prestigious role for Crossmolina councillor

POPULAR Crossmolina Councillor Michael Loftus has been installed as cathaoirleach of the Ballina Municipal District.

The Fianna Fáil representative was elected unopposed at today’s annual general meeting of the authority.

He replaces Ballina independent Councillor Gerry Ginty, who was praised for his commitment to the role over the past year.

The leas-cathaoirleach of the district is Fianna Fáil Councillor Annie May Reape.
