Share 2 Care opens in Castlebar

SHARE 2 Care, promoting suicide awareness, has opened in Castlebar.

Based at Richard Street, Share 2 Care has a drop-in centre for people affected by depression, lonliness and isolation.

The long-term plan for the centre is to have three counselling rooms and an on-site, full-time counsellor, in addition to an area where people can pop in for a cuppa and a chat.

Share 2 Care has opened a charity shop, which will be a key fundraiser for its operations. The shop is looking for donations of all kinds, from furniture to clothes, bric a brac, records and DVDs.

They are also launching a number of fundraising events in the coming weeks, including a clothing collection taking place on August 21 and 22. Cash 4 Clothes have come on board as sponsor and will release funds from clothes collections throughout Mayo on those dates to help renovate the centre in Castlebar.

Different drop-off points around the county will be announced soon. Clothes, bags, belts and shoes can all be donated.
