The number of signs extending good wishes to the Mayo GAA squad is on the rise at a roundabout in Castlebar.

VIDEO: Mayo 'roundabout battle' is underway ahead of GAA decider

A BATTLE is underway at one of Mayo's busiest roundabouts for space to erect promotional signs wishing the county's senior GAA squad every success against Dublin in the All-Ireland SFC final on September 18.

A number of signs are already in place in prime spots at Mulroy's Roundabout in Castlebar which leads to the main Dublin and Galway routes.

With Mayo back in the final for the first time in three years, the scramble for promotional places is expected to intensify as it did ahead of the 2013 decider between the two counties.

However, tOo many signs can cause motorists to be distracted and moves may be made over the coming days to restrict the number of signs at the location before it gets out of hand.
