Alan Murphy is launching his first book

GALWAY Bay FM’s Alan Murphy will launch his eagerly awaited first book with a star-studded, Hollywood themed red carpet event at The g Hotel, Galway, this Friday (September 9).

Beyond The Spotlight explores the world of fame and celebrity and features exclusive interviews Alan has done with everyone from Charlize Theron and Enrique Iglesias to Mayo’s own Louis Walsh and Rory ‘Panti’ O’Neill.

The Ballinrobe native has been a presenter with Galway Bay FM for over 12 years, and has written for countless magazines both here and abroad and worked as a showbiz editor and columnist. Alan will lift the lid on the elusive showbiz world with a tell-all account of his A-list experiences throughout his career.

Alan has covered everything from tennis at Wimbledon to movie premieres in Los Angeles and has met a who’s who of Hollywood. The book includes stories about Lindsay Lohan, Eddie Murphy and deceased icons Michael Jackson and Prince.

The 34-year-old signed a deal with Athenry-based company Book Hub Publishing last year and there’s already a second book in the works even before Beyond The Spotlight has been released.

Alan is so excited to share his book with everyone and said: “This is a dream come true for me because I’ve wanted to write a book ever since I was a little kid.

Beyond The Spotlight is a lot of fun and I can’t wait for everyone to read it. Celebrities fascinate us all and this book will show readers what their idols are really like and it’ll give them a behind scenes look at how the rich and famous live. It’s definitely a juicy read.”

Beyond The Spotlight is available to buy from September 9 at bookhubpublishing.com/shop and later in all good book stores nationwide.
