Two Mayo finalists in Responsible Tourism Awards

THE shortlist has been announced for 2016 Irish Responsible Tourism Awards, and Mayo is in the running in two of the six categories.

The awards celebrate those making a difference in Ireland and using tourism to benefit local communities, economies and the environment.

Short-listed in the Best Destination for Responsible Tourism category is Mulranny, while the Best Local Authority Initiative for Responsible Tourism category features Westport Smarter Travel Bike Buffet (Mayo County Council).

Award winners will be announced at the 2016 Irish Responsible Tourism Conference on Thursday, October 6, at the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, Golden Lane, Dublin 8.
