Passing of retired Castlebar psychiatric nurse

THE death has taken place of Michael Quinn, Turlough Road, Castlebar, and late of Castlebar Street, Newport.

An affable and much-respected personality, the deceased was a retired psychiatric nurse who had served his profession admirably.

A devoted family man, he will be hugely missed by the community at large.

Michael was an active member of the Castlebar Fianna Fáil Cumann for many years and was presented with a long service award by party leader, Deputy Micheál Martin, some time ago. He also gave of his time to a number of charity organisations, including St. Vincent de Paul.

Deepest sympathy is extended to his wife Bridie, sons Jerome and Vivian, daughters Sandra McCormick and Elaine Fusciardi, brothers Noel and Domnick, sisters Mary Reynolds, Sr. Mary Bride (USA) and Sr. Mary Jerome (USA), daughters-in-law Julie and Helen, sons-in-law Brendan and Leo, sisters-in-law, grandchildren Niall, Clare, Eoghan, Aldo, Shane, Conor, Dario, Jordan, Roberto, Roisin, Jack, Aidan, Cathal, nephews, nieces, neighbours, relatives and friends.

His remains will be reposing at his residence this evening from 4 to 7 p.m. with removal on Monday at 10 a.m. to the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar, for Requiem Mass at 11 a.m.

Burial takes place afterwards the New Cemetery, Castlebar.
