Tavern Murrisk makes the Michelin Pub Guide again

MYLES and Ruth O’Brien are joining the heavyweights in the prestigious “Michelin Eating Out in Pubs Guide” once again.

The Tavern Bar and Restaurant, Murrisk, Westport, is one of just 32 pubs in all of Ireland to make the 2017 guide.

It’s a serious accolade for the snug eatery which has gone from strength to strength in recent years.

The Tavern is a firm favourite with locals and has become a haven for tired pilgrims after their arduous Reek climb.

No wonder food guru John McKenna described it as 'the defining example of the Irish pub'.

Chef/proprietor Myles O’Brien is a member of Euro Toques, the international community of chefs and takes serious pride in the food he and his team produce.

Their regular food-themed festivals and events are a fun celebration for everyone and include The Lobster Festival, The Oyster Festival and the popular Mescan Menu, matching food and craft beer.

The Tavern’s Curry Nights on Fridays during the winter months have been an institution for many years – the original and the best.
