Lorna scoops national business award

A MEMBER of JCI Mayo has won national honours at the JCI Ireland and Bank of Ireland Friendly Business Awards.

Achill-based Lorna's Mobile Hairdressing was named disability access award winner at the awards ceremony in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Galway.

The awards, organised annually by JCI Ireland, celebrate and recognise businesses for the value and service they bring to local communities.

This year involved the consideration of over 500 businesses as nominees across eight local ceremonies and a judging process that engaged with thousands of people, through mystery shopping, a public vote and the consideration of submissions compiled by local branches.

Explained Brian Smyth, JCI Ireland president: “Our goal this year is all about impact, relevance and growth and the awards have underlined the importance of customer service to SMEs.”

Said Ivan Farmer, JCI Ireland business director: “The awards present an opportunity for customers to reward that business that goes the extra mile and gives something back to the local community.”
