Mayo County Council wins the Best County Council for FDI at the InBUSINESS Recognition Awards 2016.

Mayo County Council picks up InBUSINESS Recognition Award

MAYO County Council has won the Best County Council for FDI Award at the fifth annual InBUSINESS Recognition Awards 2016.

The award was presented to Peter Hynes, chief executive of Mayo County Council, at a ceremony in the Conrad Hotel, Dublin, last Monday.

Hundreds of guests from across the country converged on the hotel to celebrate Irish business, with winners chosen across 22 categories based on the broad criteria of growth, profile of business, range of services, and customer care.

Hosted by Newstalk’s Vincent Wall, each winner had the opportunity to address the audience to give some further insights to their business as they received their award.

Vodafone Ireland come out on top as Company of the Year, with Julie Sinnamon of Enterprise Ireland awarded Businesswoman of the Year and Joe Barrett of Applegreen Businessman of the Year.

Legal Firm Eversheds were named Business Law Firm of the Year for the third year running, while Russell Brennan Keane took the award for Accountancy Firm of the Year. Kemmy Business School at the University of Limerick received the Best Business School award and Virgin Media were recognised as providing Best Business Broadband.

Dublin Port was named Best in Tourism, with Shannon Group being presented with the award for Best Brand. NSAI was named Best State/Semi-State Body, AdMailer.ie received the award for the Best Newcomer, Paypal was named Best in E-Commerce, and the Volvo S90 was named Best Executive Car.
