Ed Sheeran fans leave Mayo town centre in a mess

FANS of leading music star Ed Sheeran have left a section of Castlebar town centre in a complete mess after queuing all night for tickets for his forthcoming Dublin concerts.

The outdoor staff of Mayo County Council were called in this morning to clean up the significant amounts of rubbish discarded by some fans at Main Street.

Local business people opening their shops were outraged when they saw the state in which the area was left.

A number of them assisted the council workers in sweeping up the litter, bottles, sleeping bags, clothes and fold-up chairs.

One angry shop owners told The Connaught Telegraph: 'It was totally unacceptable for a group of people to leave a public area in such awful condition.

'They could easily have brought their rubbish home with them and disposed of it properly.'

Long queues had been forming outside Downtown Records from early yesterday evening by those seeking the much-sought-after-tickets.

But there had not been enough tickets for those in the queue when they went on sale at the shop, resulting in tears being shed by many.

Ed Sheeran's Dublin concerts are scheduled to take place at the 3 Arena on April 12 and 13.
