Major investment in Castlebar public house nears completion
THE former McCarthy's Bar at Main Street in Castlebar is preparing to reopen with a new look and new ownership.
Final works are being completed on the extension and renovation of what now will become known as Swifts Bar, under the proprietorship of a popular Castlebar family.
Swifts Bar is currently interviewing for staff and there is keen interest in the positions. CVs should be sent to declanswift@gmail.com.
It is hoped the relaunch of the public house, following the major investment, will further expedite the revival of the town centre which has witnessed the opening of a number of new restaurants in recent months.
Works are due to start in the coming months on transforming the former Upper Crust shop and Lavelle's Bakery into a state-of-the-art commercial unit and restaurant by Dermot Fadden and Ivan Carroll.
Leo Doherty Menswear are also planned to return to their former premises on Main Street over the coming weeks.
