Business blow as shoe shop is to close

TIERNEY Shoes in Ballinrobe and Westport is to close.

The decision has been announced on the business's Facebook page, resulting in an outpouring of good wishes for the future to the owners and staff.

The post read: “It is with a heavy heart and after much thought and consideration that we have decided to close Tierney Shoes in both Ballinrobe and Westport.

This decision has proved to be very difficult, mainly due to the friendships we have made with staff, customers and fellow town traders.

We would like to thank all our customers for your support and loyalty over the past 12 years.

To our fellow town traders (who have been a great support to us during the years), we are saddened to have to make this decision as small towns need local businesses to support each other.

A massive thank you to our very dedicated and loyal staff, Ger and Jessica (Ballinrobe), Sarah and Lisa (Westport). Thank you for your passion, commitment and loyalty to Tierney Shoes and for providing the best customer service experiences for our customers.

We are forever grateful to you all which makes this decision so difficult for us.

Please note, all vouchers and credit notes are valid during closing down sale, now on.”
