Fallen tree is finally removed from town river

A TREE that had fallen into the Castlebar town river during Storm Doris has finally been removed. 

Castlebar Municipal District workmen were on the scene at the rear of the Church of the Holy Rosary this morning to lift the tree and take it away.

Complaints had been raised locally over the length of time it had been left there to become an eyesore and the fact nobody was taking responsibility for it. 

Castlebar Tidy Towns had also highlighted the matter in its social media platforms.
