Man fatally injured in Mayo road accident

A MAN in his sixties has been fatally in a road traffic accident on the main Knock to Claremorris road, An Garda Siochána confirmed.

The emergency services were at the scene earlier today and the remains have been removed to Mayo University Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The deceased is understood to be from the area.

The accident occurred at Ballinasmalla and gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them at 094-9372080.
