New-look Louisburgh hotel is officially opened

THE Minister of State for Regional Economic Development Michael Ring has performed the officially opening of the Ocean Lodge Hotel, Killadoon, Louisburgh.

He stated: “I was delighted to be asked to perform the officially opening of the Ocean Lodge Hotel by Richard and Olivia Kelly.

'The Ocean Lodge Hotel was built in the 1960’s and is over 50 years in operation. It was originally known as the Killadoon Beach Hotel.

“The Ocean Lodge Hotel has been refurbished to the highest standards. I have no doubt that the Ocean Lodge Hotel will be supported, not just by tourists, but by tourists and by local people alike.

“Tourism is the lifeblood of many parts of the country and is of great importance to Mayo. Tourism can play an important role in contributing to Ireland’s economic revival.

“Here in County Mayo there is a fantastic tourism experience waiting for any prospective visitor in terms of accommodation, things to do, places to see and experiences to be had.

“Killadoon is one of the most beautiful places in the world and I compliment Richard and Olivia Kelly for having the foresight to provide this facility which will enhance the tourism potential of this area.

“Ireland, as a destination is continuing to broaden its appeal and become more attractive for overseas visitors. We have stunning landscapes and we have managed to maintain the warm welcome of our people.

“I wish Richard and Olivia Kelly every success for the future,” he added.
