Death of widely respected Castlebar chemist

One of the town's oldest and most respected personalities, the deceased, a chemist by profession, ran a very successful pharmacy at Main Street for a long number of years and was always very kind and courteous in her dealings with the public.

Her warm personality endeared her to the community at large and news of her passing has evoked feelings of great loss and sorrow.

A lifelong member of Castlebar Bridge Club, her late husband, Pat, was also involved in the Castlebar business sector with his fishing tackle shop, which was widely popular with anglers from the area.

Her remains will be reposing at her residence, Main Street, Castlebar, on Sunday evening from 5.30 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Removal takes place on Monday at 10 a.m. to the Church of The Holy Rosary, Castlebar, for Requiem Mass followed by burial in the New Cemetery.
