Mayo plant nursery in line-up for Bloom

COIS na Trá Plants from Ballycroy are among 30 of Ireland’s leading nurseries set to exhibit in the Nursery & Floral Pavillin at Bloom 2017.

Run by Bord Bia and now in its 11th year, Bloom showcases the best of Ireland’s horticultural and food industry. This year’s event will take place in the Phoenix Park, Dublin, for five days, June 1 to 5.

Shane Ginty and his wife Fiona started their small coastal plant nursery Cois na Trá in 2012. Cois na Trá grow all of their own plants beside the Atlantic.

Fiona also runs a florist from the nursery Fleur Weddings, offering a bespoke service full of unusual wild flowers, most of which are grown on-site.

Bloom 2017 will feature 22 spectacular show gardens created by award-winning garden designers. Organisations such as Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin, Enable Ireland, Trocaire, Pieta House and Oxfam/GOAL have collaborated with a number of seasoned and new Bloom designers to create show gardens capturing a range of societal issues that resonate on a global scale. These include children’s health, disability, mental health, and the need for a more tolerant and peaceful world.
