Enda Kenny performs one of his last functions in Mayo as Taoiseach

IN one of his last functions in Mayo as Taoiseach, Enda Kenny today officially opened a multi-million euro waste management and transfer facility in Castlebar where 50 people are employed.

Located at the Quarry Point Business Park, Moneenbradagh, the facility is run by McGrath Waste Management and has been 16 years in the planning.

The company, headed by Declan, Sinead and Ger McGrath, deal primarily with the collection, transportation and recovery of various waste streams.

An Taoiseach paid tribute to the McGrath family for their vision, hardwork and commitment.

McGrath Waste Management was set up in 1977 by Paddy and Nora McGrath.

Until recently the company operated waste transfer facilities in Killala and at Moneen Castlebar.
