€23,000 for litter/graffiti awareness

FUNDING in the amount of €23,000 has been approved to Mayo County Council under the 2017 Anti-Litter and Anti-Graffiti Awareness Grant Scheme.

Welcoming the allocation, Minister of State Michael Ring explained that the aim of the funding is to tackle graffiti and litter across the county.

The funding has increased by €5,000 for Mayo on last year’s funding approval.

Minister Ring continued: “The scheme provides funding to Mayo County Council to conduct public awareness and education campaigns at a community level targeting litter, dog fouling and graffiti.

Mayo County Council is responsible for selecting the suitable awareness projects that receive funding.

Interested groups should apply directly to Mayo County Council for funding.”
