Claremorris Town Hall secures dormant accounts windfall

CLAREMORRIS Town Hall has secured a windfall from the dormant accounts fund.

The facility has been allocated a sum of €75,000 to carrying out improvement works at the public amenity.

The improvements include increasing the seating capacity in the main auditorium as well as internal electrical and ancillary works.

The grant was announced this morning by Minister of State for Regional Development Michael Ring.

Clár Community Project Limited, Claremorris, and Brickens/Logboy/Tulrahan Housing Association have also benefitted from the dormant accounts funding.

Clár received €66,739 to upgrade and fit-out a building for training and conference purposes, as well as the appointment of a part-time manager, while the housing association got €19,876 for the purchase of kitchen equipment to help increase capacity for its meals-on-wheels service.

Minister Ring told The Connaught Telegraph he was glad to be in the position to help the three organisation which did outstanding work in their communities.
