'Thieves' target flower boxes

FLOWER boxes in Kiltimagh have been targetted by thieves in recent days.

A number of plants have been removed from recently planted up displays.

On their Facebook page, Kiltimagh Tidy Towns, who have done Trojan work in the town, commented: “It's sad to look at the amount of flowers that have been stolen from the new planter boxes in Main street and the Market Square. Those flowers were planted last week.

Up to 25 plants have been taken in the Museum Park. Those flowers were planted by the Kiltimagh Foroige Youth Club a few weeks ago.”

Added the post: “It is frustrating that some people would stoop that low.”

Luckily, local man John Brennan has come to the rescue, replacing the flowers at his own expense, and he has been hailed for his wonderful community spirit.
