Dog sniffs out hidden cannabis

A GARDA sniffer dog has discovered a quantity of drugs on waste ground in Castlebar.

The find was made on Monday last in the Moneen area of the town.

The drug involved is believed to be cannabis, with a street value in the region of €1,500.

No arrests have been made in relation to the discovery.

The sniffer dog involved was specially brought in from outside the Mayo jurisdiction to participate in the search operation.
