Second green pennant for Castlebar Golf Club. . .17 days after first one!

AFTER waiting 107 years for their first green pennant, Castlebar Golf Club has won two in the space of 17 days.

Following the All-Ireland success of the club's Jimmy Bruen Shield team on September 23, Ian Brennan and Declan Prendergast have today captured the NCBI Specsavers HolmPatrick Cup at St. Andrew's golf course, Scotland.

A birdie on the 18th by Prendergast clinched a famous victory for Castlebar in a countback against second-placed Nenagh. Brennan, for his part, registered a brilliant score of one under par.

The duo will be welcomed home to Castlebar Golf Club at 7 p.m. this evening.
