Big award win for Costello & McDermott

COSTELLO & McDermott’s 50 years and more of high quality and reliable service to customers in the west of Ireland has been acknowledged by Fleet Transport magazine at its annual awards programme.

The Ballinrobe-based fresh and chilled food distributor was presented with the Best Regional Transport Operator 2018 award, sponsored by FUSO Canter Trucks, at the Fleet Transport Awards gala banquet held at the Citywest Hotel, Dublin.

Attended by 1,100 key representatives from the road transport and commercial vehicle sectors, the prize was presented by Andrew Johnson, sales manager, FUSO Ireland, on behalf of the category sponsor to David McDermott and Sean Higgins from Costello & McDermott.

Event compere Marty Whelan read the following citation during the prize-giving ceremony: “With a company ethos of putting the customer first and with its client base growing, the success of Costello & McDermott’s business is based on the reliability of its service and the quality and range of its products. The company’s services have also expanded to include distribution and logistics offerings.”

A delighted Sean Higgins, Costello & McDermott, said on receiving the trophy: “We had a great night at the Fleet Transport Awards. This was our first time there and it was way over what we expected from an awards event.
