Family Resource Centres in Mayo receive new funding

NEW funding has been allocated to Family Resource Centres in Mayo.

The Family Resource Centres programme is Ireland’s largest family support programme delivering universal services to families in disadvantaged areas across the country based on a life-cycle approach.

The following Mayo centres received funding.

Ballina - €12,514

Cairdeas, Ballaghderren - €12,673

Le Cheile, Castlebar - €18,581

Neart hAmhnais Teoranta, Ballyhaunis, €8,200

TACU, Ballinrobe, €19,160

Westport - €6,142

Claremorris - €19,648

Welcoming the news, Castlebar TD Enda Kenny said: “The aim of the Family Resource Centre programme is to combat disadvantage and improve the functioning of the family unit.

“This funding will greatly benefit families in Mayo who need it most. Fine Gael will continue to promote a more inclusive, diverse, fair and progressive society.”
