GAA fans handed free refixture tickets after postponed clash

GAA supporters have not been given refunds following the postponement of today's FBD League clash between Mayo and Galway at Elvery's MacHale Park in Castlebar.

Instead, they were handed tickets giving them free admission to the refixure.

It is understood this is standard practice for all postponed fixtures.

The game was called off shortly before throw-in due to the freezing conditions.

A large crowd, estimated at 2,500, had been in the stadium when the announcement was made.
