Castlebar e-commerce startup scores SME award

Oodlique.com, a unique personalised gifts marketplace, founded by Brendan and Sophia McHugh, have been awarded Best Online Retail in the export category of the 2017 Irish SME Awards.

Established in October 2016, oodlique now boasts over 2,000 unique personalised gifts from talented gift makers from Ireland and the UK.

Recently featured in December 2017 on Ireland AM's Boost My Business Slot, co-founder Sophia McHugh said: “We are very honoured to have received this award at such an early stage of our business, just over one year since we launched. It is a really great accomplishment for us.”

The increasing popularity of gifting personalised gifts in Ireland and the UK has led to this Castlebar-based business’ ongoing success.

Said Sophia: “2018 is going to be a really big year for us. We had expected January to slow down quite a bit but we were pleasantly surprised at how busy the website was, with our most popular gifts being for engagements, weddings and new babies.

“Winning this award has really started 2018 off on a high for us.”
