SEPTEMBER is All-Ireland football time and Mayo were fortunate to have both their senior ladies’ and men’s team compete in finals.

Unfortunately, both ended up on the losing side, and against Dublin in each case, but both can hold their heads high despite losing out.

For Mayo ladies it was a rebuilding programme and among the new talent coming through were sisters Grace and Niam Kelly who were part of that Mayo forward division which produced some great performances, particularly their win over defending champions Cork.

A notable achievement by these two girls from Moy Davitts GAA Club and members of a family steeped in GAA tradition.
