ESB apologises over fourth power outage in Crossmolina in recent weeks

ESB Networks has apologised to the over 700 customers in Crossmolina for the power outage that has occurred in the town today - the fourth in recent weeks.

Homes, businesses and schools have all been affected by the loss of power with the local primary school closing for the day.

A spokesperson for ESB confirmed it was the fourth power outgage in the town in recent weeks, but none of them were related.

Today's problem is due to a cable fault and the one that took place last week was caused by lightning.

The spokesman said power supplies have now been restored to most customers and work will continue to restore a supply to the remaining customers over the coming hours.
