Passing of widely popular Ballyheane publican

THE death has taken place of Walter McEvilly, Ballyheane, Castlebar.

One of west Mayo's best known publicans, he was held in very high regard in the community at large and news of his passing has evoked a sense of immense loss.

He is survived by his wife Pauline, daughters Joann, Mary and Úna, sons Walter and Michael, sister Winnie (O'Reilly), (Cavan), sons-in-law Michael and Tom, daughter-in-law Deirdre, grandchildren, Jane, Niamh, Beanne, Isabella, Jesse and Aoife, brother-in-law Dermot, nephew, niece, relatives, neighbours and friends, to whom deepest sympathy is tendered.

His remains will be reposing at Ballyheane Community Centre this Saturday evening from 4.30 p.m. with removal at 7 pm to St. Patrick's Church, Ballyheane.

Funeral Mass takes place on Sunday at 11 a.m. with burial afterwards in Ballyheane Cemetery.

May his gentle soul rest in peace.
