Remembrance walk for Gabriel

ALL roads lead to Newport on Sunday, May 27, for a beautiful, family friendly 6k remembrance walk for Gabriel.

Gabriel Alex was born sleeping on July 22, 2017. His time here was short but he had time to make ever lasting memories with his mother and father, Jacqueline and Eamonn Diamond.

Jacqueline and Eamonn were given great support by the newly formed not for profit organisation Féileacáin.

Féileacáin offers great support to anyone affected by the death of their baby during pregnancy or shortly after, and this amazing charity helps parents by offering support and guidance though this difficult time in a couple's lives.

Jacqueline and Eamonn have decided to hold this walk, and a jumbo raffle, to highlight the work of this great charity and help raise badly needed funds for Féileacáin.

The day kicks off at 1 p.m. at the grounds of the oratory that is situated at the bottom of Barrack Hill, across from Hotel Newport. From there, there will be a family friendly walk around the beautiful harbour and on to the greenaway, crossing to the Glenhest Road and back to the oratory.

After this it's on to Hotel Newport for refreshments and the monster raffle, with great prizes to be won.

Sponsorship cards can be found at local shops throughout Newport and are also available by contacting Jackie or Eamonn on (087) 9618915 or (087) 6335349.

Tickets for the raffle will be on sale on the day and 100% of all monies raised will go towards Féileacáin.

This promises to be a very special day and event in honour of a very special boy, Gabriel Alex.
