Girls off to a winning start

THE Mayo Under 14s made it a winning start at the Gaynor Cup tournament in Limerick earlier today.

The side were impressive in notching up a 2-0 victory over Longford.

Second half goals via an own goal from a fantastic Laura Moran corner plus an excellent finish from Sarah McNamara gave the girls the points in a match that they completely dominated.

Mayo has two teams at the prestigious tournament - Under 14 and Under 16 - which features Ireland's top female footballers.
