Misuse of town centre parking spaces is highlighted by Mayo campaign

THE 'Back in 5 Minutes Parking Campaign’ has been launched today by the Irish Wheelchair Association in Castlebar town centre.

The rationale behind this initiative is to encourage motorists to consider the consequences of using accessible parking bays when they have no valid reason for doing so.

It asks drivers to consider the issues people with limited mobility encounter when the misuse of accessible parking bays occurs.

The initiative is expected to be rolled out in other towns across the county.
