Mayo gardai probe assault and robbery of elderly man

A MAYO community is outraged by the assault and robbery of an elderly man.

It occurred in a car park in the Market Square area of Ballina on Friday evening.

During the attack, the man had a sum of cash taken from him by two women and a man before a member of the public came to his assistance.

Gardaì in the town are appealing for witnesses to the incident.
